How this age calculator works

Enter a date of birth and, if you like, a different date to measure to. The calculator counts complete years first, then the remaining complete months, then the remaining days. Example: someone born on 15 March 1995 is 31 years, 3 months and 5 days old on 20 June 2026.

It also shows your age as a single total in months, weeks, days and hours, which is handy for fun facts, school forms or milestone dates.

How to use it

  1. Pick your date of birth.
  2. Leave the second date as today, or choose another date to find the age on that day.
  3. Press Calculate to see your age, totals, birth weekday and next birthday.

Leap years and 29 February

Leap years add an extra day, and the calculator accounts for them when it counts days. For people born on 29 February, the tool treats 1 March as the birthday in years that are not leap years. Legal rules for the exact day vary by country.

When you need an exact age

  • School and university admission cut-off dates.
  • Job, visa and government forms that ask for age on a certain date.
  • Retirement, insurance and pension planning.
  • Sports and competitions with age categories.
